Solution architect

Key Responsibilities

  • Design end‑to‑end application architectures aligned with enterprise architecture principles, standards, and strategic directions.
  • Translate business requirements into robust, scalable and compliant solution designs covering applications, integrations, and supporting technologies.
  • Act as technical lead in complex initiatives, providing architectural guidance throughout planning, implementation and handover phases.
  • Ensure architecture compliance and actively contribute to architecture governance processes.
  • Support both HQ and subsidiary projects, working closely with business stakeholders, IT delivery teams, and external vendors.
  • Define and validate technical and functional requirements towards vendors and implementation partners.
  • Oversee solution implementation quality, ensuring architectural integrity during development and deployment.
  • Design and review system integrations between enterprise platforms and domain‑specific applications.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation (application landscapes, interfaces, models, standards).
  • Contribute to application portfolio management, including technology assessments, lifecycle decisions and decommissioning proposals.
  • Lead or support Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives, from evaluation criteria definition to result assessment.
  • Actively identify and promote innovation opportunities, new technologies and best practices within the application domain.
  • Collaborate across business and IT functions to continuously improve architectural maturity within the organization.

Requirements

Higher education degree in IT, engineering, business informatics or a related field.Several years of experience (typically 5+ years) in solution design–related roles, such as:
  • Solution Architect
  • Senior / Lead Business Analyst
  • Technical Analyst
  • Application Consultant or similar roles with strong solution design responsibility
Proven experience in translating business needs into end‑to‑end IT solutions, including functional and non‑functional aspects.Solid understanding of application landscapes and system interactions, including:
  • SaaS solutions and enterprise applications
  • MIS or domain‑specific business applications
  • Power Platform and SharePoint Online‑based solutions
  • Client‑server architectures
  • Frontend technologies, including modern web frameworks and SAP Fiori‑based user interfaces
Experience working closely with development teams, architects or vendors on solution definition and implementation.Ability to think in architectural concepts (components, interfaces, integrations, data flows), even if the formal Solution Architect role is a next career step.Experience in requirements analysis, solution modelling and documentation, with openness to take ownership for architecture‑level decisions.Familiarity with modelling techniques and notations (e.g. UML, ArchiMate, ERD) is an advantage, but not a strict prerequisite.Strong analytical mindset, structured thinking and problem‑solving skills.Confident communication skills to bridge business and IT stakeholders across HQ and subsidiary environments.Willingness to grow into or further develop a Solution Architect role, including architectural governance and technical leadership responsibilities.Intermediate level English language skills (spoken and written).

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and related certifications (especially Microsoft ecosystem).

  • Background in PoC execution, market analysis or vendor evaluation.
  • Exposure to enterprise‑level architecture governance frameworks.
  • Mentoring or coaching experience within architecture or engineering teams.
