Indirect Procurement Manager

The Indirect Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement of all non-production-related goods and services (indirect materials) that support the company’s operations of the Richter group. This includes categories of Capex, Opex, MRO, R&D and Professional Services. The role ensures that these goods and services are procured in the most efficient, cost-effective, and strategic manner while maintaining compliance with the company’s overall goals.
Your tasks
- Strategic Procurement Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive indirect procurement category strategy aligned with the company's objectives.
- Analyze current and future needs for indirect goods and services across various departments, ensuring that the procurement process supports the company’s growth and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to understand business priorities and translate them into procurement strategies.
- Supplier Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and service providers to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of goods and services.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable pricing, terms, and conditions for the company.
- Regularly review and evaluate supplier performance based on quality, service, and cost metrics.
- Cost Optimization & Budget Management:
- Establish and manage budgets for indirect procurement categories, working with department heads to understand their needs and financial goals.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, or competitive bidding.
- Monitor and control spending, ensuring that procurement activities remain within budget and contribute to overall profitability.
- Risk Management:
- Assess potential risks in the procurement of indirect goods and services, including vendor risks, market fluctuations, and regulatory changes.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to the company’s operations.
- Ensure continuity of supply for critical indirect goods and services.
- Process Improvement & Efficiency:
- Continuously review and improve procurement processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
- Leverage technology, automation, and data analytics to streamline procurement activities and ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Implement best practices for supplier evaluation, procurement cycles, and contract management.
- Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, corporate governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor supplier compliance with contractual obligations and ethical standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with departments such as IT, HR, finance, marketing, and operations to align procurement strategies with company-wide needs.
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify and execute procurement initiatives and cost-reduction projects.
- Provide expert procurement advice and support to internal stakeholders.
- Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead and manage the indirect procurement team of 20+ people including Category Managers and strategic buyers, setting clear performance goals and providing mentorship and guidance.
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven culture within the procurement team.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement development plans for team members.
- Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):
- Promote sustainable and socially responsible sourcing practices in line with the company’s CSR goals.
- Identify opportunities to incorporate sustainability into procurement strategies, such as selecting green products or working with ethical suppliers.
- Monitor and report on the environmental and social impact of indirect procurement activities.
What we're looking for in your
Commercial MSC/BS/BA degree in related field required (i.e. Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering)
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role focusing on indirect procurement.
