General Scope
The Head of Group Controlling Systems is a newly established position and will be overseeing the
Controlling systems architecture, their data cohesion and will be supporting the various Group Controlling
departments with master data management, data management, process automation, data reporting and
visualization and systems development within Gedeon Richter Group (GR) Group.
The position holder will be expected to set up this new function within Group Controlling to consolidate all
financial systems activities of Group Controlling into one department to create synergies and
standardization as well as to support upcoming major systems development.
Over the next couple of years, GR Group will be implementing a new SAP S4 platform and new Planning,
Reporting & Consolidation architecture. The position holder will play an instrumental role in their design
and implementation.
It is important to highlight that this is NOT an IT position, and the position is NOT about technical system
implementation or maintenance, but the role is rather focused on master data management, cohesion and
controlling process support/optimization within the relevant systems.
Being part of Group Controlling, the position will report to the Global Head of Controlling and will have 5
direct reports (solid reporting line), these being:
▪ Head of Data Processing
▪ 2 Controllers supporting the implementation of SAP S4 as business process owners
▪ 2 SQL and BI Support
The position holder will oversee a team of 10+ highly skilled Finance or Data Professionals at GR
Headquarters in Budapest.
Long Description
Main Responsibilities
- Financial Systems Operations: Configure, maintain, and develop Group Controlling financial applications; lead system projects; act as key liaison between Group Controlling and AIT.
- System Integration: Ensure Controlling systems are properly integrated with other GR systems.
- Master Data Management: Own and maintain all Controlling‑related master data across GR systems.
- Data Management: Collect, validate, and consolidate data into a single source of truth.
- Management Reporting: Ensure systems support internal/external reporting and accurately reflect GR structure and profitability; run TEKEFESZ and SAP ECC CO allocations.
- Report Automation: Drive automation of reports, KPIs, and dashboards.
- CAPEX Capitalization: Own PPE and IT CAPEX capitalization processes for GR Plc.
- Affiliate Support: Guide local Controlling and Finance teams on system changes and issues.
- User Support: Provide daily operational support, including month‑end and quarter‑end processes.
- Documentation: Develop and update user manuals for systems, Power BI reports, and SQL databases.
- Training: Deliver or coordinate trainings for system changes and new joiners.
- Business Acumen: Track business/strategy changes and ensure they are captured in Controlling systems.
- Planning & Reporting System Implementation: Support design and rollout of a new Planning & Reporting tool.
- SAP S4 Implementation: Support design and implementation of Controlling processes in S4.
- Efficiency Improvements: Identify and lead system and process optimization initiatives.
- AI Utilization: Use AI to enhance forecasting and trend analysis.
- Group Initiatives: Contribute data, system solutions, and analytics to group‑wide programs.
- Leadership: Manage the Group Controlling Systems team, including hiring, development, and motivation.
- M&A Integration: Ensure new acquisitions and BD projects are integrated into systems.
- Controlling Transformation: Support the global Controlling transformation agenda as part of leadership team.

- Master’s degree in Economics, Business, or IT Technology from a reputable university
- Professional certifications (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) are an advantage

Professional Experience
▪ Minimum 12 years of progressive experience gained in core financial and operational business
processes such as budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting or in Finance systems roles at
large and complex multinational listed companies (e.g. FMCG, chemicals, pharma, etc.) of which
minimum 5 years in managerial positions of sizeable teams
▪ HQ and/or multi-affiliate and multi-country experience is required
▪ Hands-on experience in master data management, SAP and planning and reporting tools
▪ Experience in implementing SAP S4 and planning, reporting or consolidation software for a group
of companies or a global business is an advantage

▪ Hands-on experience in master data management, ERP systems (SAP), budgeting/reporting tools,
database management systems (SQL) and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI), MIS reporting tools,
AI and their use for a group of affiliates, markets, companies
▪ Strong financial systems skills, including configuration, integration, customization and
maintenance of financial platforms
▪ Proficiency
▪ Practical knowledge of MIS architectures (the technology)
▪ Good understanding of accounting as well as consolidation, cost allocation and management
reporting principles
▪ Highly analytical mindset, strategic thinking and advanced problem-solving skills focusing on root
cause analysis
▪ Excellent time management and prioritization skills
▪ Ability to lead and drive changes in a complex international environment

Other Requirements
The position holder is expected to work independently with minimal supervision and lead a sizeable team
(10+ Finance professionals) next to guiding and instructing in-market (remote) Finance personnel
