General Scope
- The Head of Group Controlling Systems is a newly established role responsible for overseeing the Group Controlling systems architecture, data cohesion, and system‑supported controlling processes across the Gedeon Richter Group.
- The role will build and lead a new function within Group Controlling, consolidating financial systems‑related activities to drive standardization, synergies, and process efficiency.
- The position plays a key business role in the design and implementation of SAP S/4HANA and the new Planning, Reporting & Consolidation architecture.
- This is not an IT role; the focus is on master data management, process optimization, automation, reporting, and visualization from a controlling perspective.
- Reporting to the Global Head of Controlling, the role has 5 direct reports and oversees a 10+ member Finance and Data team based at Group Headquarters in Budapest.
Main responsibilities
- Own and develop Group Controlling systems architecture, integration, and data cohesion
- Lead master data, data management, automation, reporting and visualization
- Act as key business partner between Group Controlling and IT (AIT)
- Support SAP S/4HANA and Planning & Reporting system design and implementation
- Ensure accurate management reporting, allocations, CAPEX capitalization, and source‑of‑truth data
- Drive process and system efficiency improvements, including AI‑enabled analytics
- Support affiliates, M&A integrations, and group‑wide initiatives
- Lead and develop the Group Controlling Systems team and contribute to the Controlling transformation agenda
Qualifications and language skills
- Master’s degree in Economics, Business, or IT Technology from a reputable university
- Professional certifications (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) are an advantage
- Fluent English and Hungarian, written and spoken, are required
Qualifications and language skills
- 12+ years of progressive experience in core finance processes (budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting) or finance systems roles within large, complex multinational listed companies
- 5+ years in managerial roles, leading sizeable teams
- Proven HQ and multi‑country / multi‑affiliate experience
- Strong hands‑on expertise in master data management, SAP, and planning & reporting tools
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA and group‑wide planning, reporting or consolidation system implementations is an advantage
Professional Experience
- Hands‑on experience in master data management and financial systems across a group of affiliates / markets / companies
- Practical experience with ERP systems (SAP), budgeting and reporting tools, MIS reporting platforms, and database management systems (SQL)
- Experience in using data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) and AI‑based solutions to support reporting, forecasting, and analytics
- Solid understanding of accounting, consolidation, cost allocation, and management reporting principles from a systems and process perspective
- Ability to translate business and strategy changes into system and data model changes
- Proven experience working independently while leading and coordinating a 10+ member finance team and guiding remote, in‑market finance personnel
