Global IT License Manager

As Global IT License Manager, you will drive the governance, optimization, and strategic management of Gedeon Richter’s global software and SaaS portfolio. The role combines Software Asset Management, vendor governance, cost optimization, and IT strategy to ensure compliance, maximize business value, and support digital transformation initiatives. Acting as the central authority for software investments across the organization, you will collaborate closely with IT, Procurement, Finance, Legal, Cybersecurity, and business stakeholders. Your mission is to optimize software spending, minimize risks, and align technology decisions with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously improve the global Software Asset Management (SAM) and software licensing practice.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of software licenses, subscriptions, contracts, renewals, compliance, and vendor audits.
  • Govern strategic enterprise platforms (e.g. SAP, Microsoft 365, Azure, Salesforce, ServiceNow) and ensure clear ownership and accountability.
  • Drive software demand governance by evaluating new software requests, preventing duplication, and supporting technology standards.
  • Optimize and rationalize the application portfolio through consolidation, standardization, and lifecycle management.
  • Manage strategic software vendor relationships and drive vendor governance, licensing optimization, and sourcing initiatives
  • Drive software spend transparency, budgeting, cost optimization, and FinOps initiatives across the enterprise.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture to assess licensing impacts, TCO, and technology investment decisions.
  • Establish global governance standards, software controls, and consistent processes across all regions and subsidiaries.
  • Ensure licensing compliance, manage risks, support audits, and provide executive-level reporting on software usage, costs, savings, and vendor performance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (IT, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Engineering, Economics or Business Administration)

Other requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Software Asset Management, IT Vendor Management, IT Procurement, IT Governance, or similar areas
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise software licensing, SAM, SaaS, cloud, and hybrid environments in multinational organizations
  • Knowledge of major software licensing models (Microsoft, SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Oracle, Adobe, VMware/Broadcom, Veeva)
  • Familiarity with SAM tools (e.g. Flexera, USU), IT governance frameworks (ITIL, FinOps), and technology governance processes
  • Experience in regulated industries (pharmaceutical, life sciences, manufacturing) is an advantage

Preferred Certifications: CSAM, CITAM, IAITAM, Microsoft Licensing, FinOps, ITIL, CISA.
