General Scope

  • The Head of Global Business Services Controlling is a newly established role with end‑to‑end responsibility for planning, budgeting, reporting, analysis, and controlling of the Global Business Services (GBS) cost base of the Gedeon Richter Group (≈ HUF 100bn in 2024).
  • The role also oversees group‑wide employee‑related costs, headcount (11,000+ FTEs; ≈ HUF 220bn) and HR functional costs globally.
  • Global Business Services include functions such as Finance, AIT, Procurement, HR, Legal, Compliance, Strategy & Program Office, CEO Office, Communications, and Technical Services.
  • Reporting to the Head of Group Global Functions Controlling, the position leads a team of GBS and HR Controllers with 4 direct reports.
  • The role acts as a key business partner to Heads of Global Functions and the Head of Compensation & Rewards, supporting cost transparency, efficiency, and decision‑making at group level.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end controlling for Global Business Services, transversal costs, and global HR (costs, FTEs)
  • Drive group‑wide cost and headcount transparency, efficiency, and standardization
  • Own functional cost controlling systems and support SAP S/4HANA and Planning & Reporting implementations
  • Act as a key business partner to Global Function Heads and senior leadership
  • Deliver executive‑level reporting and insights to support decision‑making
  • Lead and develop the Global Business Services Controlling team and support the Controlling transformation agenda

Qualifications and language skills

Qualifications
Masters degree in Economics or Business from a reputable university is required. Further qualifications
such as ACCA, CIMA or CPA would be a plus
Language Skills
Fluent written and spoken English and Hungarian is a must

Professional Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in Budgeting, Management Reporting or Financial Controlling within large, complex multinational companies
  • 5+ years in managerial roles, leading teams
  • Proven HQ and multi‑country / multi‑affiliate experience
  • Strong hands‑on experience managing G&A / functional cost bases in an SAP environment
  • Experience with SAP implementations and integration of acquired or greenfield sites is an advantage

Required Capabilities & Skills

  • Hands‑on experience with controlling and performance management systems for functional costs and headcount
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, HAS, consolidation, cost allocation, and management reportingHighly analytical, with strong problem‑solving capabilities
  • Proven ability to lead change in a complex, multinational environment
  • Strong business acumen, results‑driven, high‑energy “can‑do” mindset
  • Proficiency in financial systems and planning/reporting tools
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to simplify complex topics
  • Effective people manager with a collaborative style and high integrity
