Responsibilities
Full P&L Ownership and Financial Stewardship
In partnership with the Country Finance Lead and Country HR Lead, you will:
- Own and deliver the country P&L.
- Drive revenue growth through effective gross-to-net management.
- Ensure cost discipline and sustainable operating margin performance.
- Balance top-line growth, investment levels, and bottom-line results.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance reviews.
- Drive disciplined resource allocation and performance management.
Strategy Execution and Business Growth
- Translate global strategies and cluster priorities into actionable country execution plans.
- Ensure alignment with portfolio priorities, launch plans, trade strategies, and market access initiatives.
- Adapt strategic priorities to local market realities while maintaining business consistency.
- Deliver excellence in product launches and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Provide structured market insights and execution feedback to cluster and business leadership.
- Identify and capitalize on untapped growth opportunities within the portfolio and local market.
Commercial Leadership
- Lead and inspire the country commercial organization.
- Oversee Sales, Key Account Management, and Trade functions where applicable.
- Drive sales force effectiveness and productivity.
- Optimize territories, targeting approaches, and customer segmentation.
- Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and customer focus.
Customer and Market Leadership
- Serve as the senior representative of the company in the local market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, trade partners, and institutional stakeholders.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, competitive dynamics, and market trends.
- Promote a strong customer-centric mindset across the organization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
- Report functionally to the Cluster Head or Regional Head.
- Provide regular updates on country performance, execution risks, compliance matters, and escalation recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with Cluster Marketing, Medical, Commercial Excellence & Enablement, and other cluster functions.
- Ensure timely, high-quality reporting and data flow to cluster leadership.
- Contribute actively to the sharing of best practices across the cluster.
Governance and Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with local regulations, industry codes, and internal policies.
- Maintain robust internal controls and risk management practices.
- Protect and strengthen the company’s reputation in the local market.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
Languages
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Strong command of the local country language is an advantage.
Experience
- 12-15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven track record of delivering revenue, profit, and market share objectives.
- Significant experience with full country-level P&L ownership and accountability.
- Demonstrated success leading complex commercial organizations in dynamic market environments.
Leadership and Functional Expertise
- Strong cross-functional leadership experience across Sales, Marketing, Medical, and Market Access.
- Proven ability to align diverse functions around common business objectives.
- Experience translating regional strategies into pragmatic country-level execution plans.
- Strong launch execution and lifecycle management experience.
- Excellent financial and operational management capabilities, including performance monitoring, risk mitigation, and corrective action planning.
